Both author and lecturer offer two opposing views on the whether the pterosaurs were able to fly or not. While the reading part lists three doubts about the validity of this action, the professor counters these specific points and presents some clues to call into the question for the information in the reading passage.

First of all, the article posits that since they were probably the cold-blooded animal, they did not have the adequate energy required to fly. However, the instructor challenges the validity of this assumption. As she asserts, for the sake of evidence released by the pterosaurs' fossils, they possessed the dense hair like covering just likes the feather, and this covering is typical among the warm-blooded animals. As a result, the pterosaurs were probably warm-blooded, and they had the sufficient energy demanded to fly.

Next, meanwhile, the text mentions to the heavy weight of the pterosaurs as the hinder of the flight, the professor dismisses this issue. As she states, although they owned the huge frame and body, they did not weight too much, inasmuch as their bones were hollow rather than the solid. Therefore, they weighed as little as to be able to keep airborne by flapping their wings despite their massive appearance.

Finally, the passage assumes that due to the lack of powerful back limbs' muscle, they were not capable of jumping high enough. Conversely, the lecturer underlines the fact that they run on their four legs which differ from the modern birds walking trend. Based on her assertion, since they walked on their four limbs, they were able to use their four limbs to push off the land and jump. As a result, there is no demand for the strong back legs, which required for the two-limb birds to take off from the ground, to help them to jump.
