This is a numerical table, which describe the poverty level of households in Australia in 1999. The general poverty level during the period is 11%, with nearly two million people are suffering from low income. This level differs among different family types.
Meanwhile, the highest percentage of 21%, who are living in poverty is recorded in sole parent families. This is closely followed by single family types, with 19% has been recorded in the period. Further, the cumulative numbers of these two types of families represent around 60% of total poor households.
On contrast, the lowest poverty is recorded in aged couple families, which is nearly a half a percentage of general household poverty level. In addition, single aged person families have recorded 2% higher percentage than the aged couple families and reported to be the next lowest proportion.
On the other hand, 933,000 couples with children are under poverty line, which is nearly half of total households living under poverty line, which is nearly half of total households living under poverty line. Furthermore, 211,000 couples without any children are suffering due to poverty.
In conclusion, families consist of elderly population have recorded lower poverty affected population. However, adults without children have reflected higher percentage, who are greatly affected by poverty. Further, the families with children are moderately affected.
