The table below shows the average band scores for students from different language groups taking the IELTS General Test in 2010.
The table illustrates the General IELTS band score received by students from four different countries, Germany, France, Indonesia and Malaysia in 2010.
Overall, German had the highest overall scores whereas the lowest score was achieved by Indonesians. However, Indonesians showed the strongest aspects in Speaking while German showed the weakness in Reading.
To start with, German had the highest in listening, Writing and speaking compared to other three nationalists where they scored at 6.8, 6.6 and 6.9, respectively. Meanwhile, Indonesian scored 6.3 in Listening, 6.7 in Speaking and, 6.1 each in Writing and Reading. In contrast, Reading section was the weakest for German students as recorded at 6.3.
The highest score for Reading was rewarded to Malaysian of 6.4 band scores. However, they scored the lowest in the rest of sections; 6.2 in Listening, 6.0 in Writing and 6.6 in Speaking. Alternatively, French students also had a similar score as Indonesian in Listening and Reading of 6.3 and 6.1, respectively. While Writing and Speaking scored 6.5 and 6.6 each for French students.
