The lecture and reading are both about the paintings of the seventeenth-century Dutch painters which is about the distributed painters to him, especially the one of en Elderly women in a white bonnet. The author believes the painters really belong to Rembrandt while the lecture thinks that the Luxurious fur collar has been added to his original one in order to make it more valuable.
The lecturer says that the x-rays and pigment analysis shows that the fur collar return to 100 years after the original one has been painted. The light shadow style of the Rembrandt doesn't appear in this one; where, the present painter shows the illuminated face has become in dark not partially colored as the original painting; because of, the fur collar doesn't appear the reflect on the light as it was in the original paint. Moreover, the back of the painter has enlarged with other pieces of wood from the top and the sides in order to enlarge it;the single wood panel has been discovered that its return back to the same tree from which another panel of wood, Rembrandt draw a picture for himself wearing a hat.
The author, saying that the painter has the same style as the Rembrandt style, the woman face representation is the same as Rembrandt way. But there are some problems in the painter about the way by which, the woman is dress where she is wearing a linen cap might be wearied by the servants with a luxurious fur collar which is so expensive. Furthermore, Rembrandt is the master of the light and shadow, but this is not appearing in the painter where the partial shadow that should appear on the face is covered by the darkness of the fur collar.
In conclusion, the author could be agreed on that there any modifications that happened to the original picture of Rembrandt but both of them has mentioned his own argument.
