The reading and the lecture, they both discuss the declination of frog species. While the reading offers various possible solutions for this problem, the lecture refutes this saying that the solutions offered by reading do not any practical significance.
First of all, the reading claims that the frogs are harmed by the pesticides that are used in a farm to prevent crops from the harmful insects ultimately harms the frog, so this kind of uses should reduce. However, the lecture argues that the practice of reducing such pesticide is not economically practical. Moreover, the professor states that it would cause an extreme disadvantage that may cause loose in the crops.
In addition, the reading makes the argument that fungus that has spread all around the world is next factor for declination of frog number which can be solved by using the antifungal on a large scale. The lecture counter's this point by stating this kind of treatment is extremely difficult to use on an individual frog. According to the professor, it is very expensive and nearly impossible to treat repeatedly for every generation of the frog.
Lastly, the reading passage argues that Natural habitat of frog are threatened by excessive use of water resources which should be a limit in use to protect the frog species from extinction. The lectures refute this claim by pointing out that this kind of activities has not the threat to habitat. Moreover, the professor says that this kind of activities has caused global warming.
