the chart shows the division of household tasks by gender in Great Britain.
The bar chart compares the number of minutes which males and females in Great Britain spend on six different types of household chores daily.
It is clear from the bar chart that women spend more time doing these chores than men. Additionally, men spend more time on Gardening/pet care and maintenance odd jobs, but significantly less time on all the other household tasks.
For females, they spend the most time on cooking/baking/washing up, at about 74 minutes compare to 30 minutes for males. There are differences in terms of cleaning/house tidying and playing with their children. Women spend 58 minutes and 45 minutes on these activities each day, respectively. By contrast, men just spend 13 minutes and 20 minutes on each of these. Men spend only 2 minutes by far less than 25 minutes for women on clothes/washing/ironing and sewing.
For males, they spend the highest number of minutes on Gardening/pet care, with 49,5 minutes each day while female spend about 21 minutes on that activity. In terms of maintenance odd jobs, males also spend more time than females, about 26 minutes daily compare to only 9,5 minutes for females.
