The line chart gives information about the changes in the proportion of people living in cities in four different countries during a period of 60 years.
It is clear that the USA always has the largest percentage of urban residents. While the proportion in China has a dramatic jump, the figure in other three countries: the USA, Korea and India rise steadily from 1970 to 2030.
In 1970, both China and India had the lowest percentage of population in cities (20%), whereas the figure in the USA and Korea were about 70% and 40% respectively. In the 1990, the USA and Korea kept a gradual increase, while the figure in China did not change at all. In 2000, the percentage in China rose sharply to about 45%, whereas the India had a slightly increase to nearly 33%.
By 2030, the proportion of urban residents in the USA and Korea will peak at approximately 90%. Meanwhile, the number in China will jump dramatically to around 65% which is nearly 27% more than that in India.
