Seneca's literary work of art
The lecturer argues that Seneca's literary works are oeverated than it deserves. This goes againts with the reading passage's idea that Seneca's works are underrated.
First, the lexturer says that the Seneca's influence on Shakespeare does not make his literary works worth of investing time. To be specific, university lecture classes are limited in time, so it's better to learn something more valuable. Due to this reason, the lecturer argues that there are only few reasons to read Seneca's works which are inferior than that of Shakespear. This refutes the reading passage's claim that modern students should be aware of Seneca's influence on the history of playwright and thus read him like they do read Shakespear.
Second, the lecturer does no agree on the notion that Senaca's works has rich qualities. For example, one of his work depics an uncles cooking his newfews and serve it to the very father of the dead children. The lecturer beileves that kind of carnivorous scene is nothing more than a pure violence. This goes againt with the reading passage's proclaim that Seneca's tragedies are thenatically rich.
Third, the lecturer points out that the quality of Seneca's works might be worth investing time for those who study ancient history, but not attractive enough for those who are ingaged in an academic subject of world literaure. This goes against with the reading passage's idea that Seneca's works have been oversighted and thus deserves a proper spotlight.
