The two graphs show the main sources of energy in the USA in the 1980s and the 1990s.
The provided pie charts compare the primary sources of energy in the USA in the 1980s and 1990s.
As can be seen, the USA mainly relied on oil and natural gas in both given periods, while hydroelectric and nuclear power constituted only a small proportion. Initially, in 1980s, oil comprised 42 per cent of the main US energy source, while natural gas and coal consisted of 26 and 22 per cents, respectively; in the mean time, both hydroelectric and nuclear power were at 5 per cent each.
There had been substantial change in the values of some energy sources 10 years later in the USA. Particularly, the US energy industry became less rely on oil as a source of energy since this figure decreased significantly and it consisted of nearly third of all sources. In contrast, the value of nuclear power doubled reaching 10 per cent. Also, there had been slight changes in natural gas and coal as these values gained 1 and 5 per cents reaching 26 and 27 per cents, respectively.
The given infographics illustrate changes in the US energy sector over a 10-year period between 1980s and 1990s.
