One of the major changes to Stokeford village between 1930 and 2010 was the removal of 2 large areas used for farming in the northeast and southwest of the main road. In their places, in 2010, a number of houses had been built. On the right of the road, there was a large house in the middle of huge gardens, which was converted into a retirement home with less area of gardens. To the north of the retirement home, there was a primary school whose only renovation was an expansion with 2 more buildings included. On the other side of the road, in 1930, Stookeford had 2 shops, which were both torn down to make room for the increasing number of people choosing to live in the village. Throughout the years, various changes had occurred to Stokeford, but the bridge, the river, and the post office still remained through it all, witnessing the development of the village.
