TPO-24 - Independent Writing Task
In light of the reading passage, one can conclude that the author believes while it is scarce to find and examine real tissue of animal fossils, scientists found the signs in T. rex's bone, which is kind of dinosaurs that lived 70 million years ago, seems to be the remains of blood vessels, red blood cells, and collagen matrix, based on the reasons they highlighted in the article. On the contrary, finding the author's justification weak and lacking in term of logic, the lecturer thoroughly and utterly repudiates this claim and gives some arguments in response.
First of all, the author drew attention to the fact that empty spaces between the bone are related to blood vessels were once located. However, the lecturer casts doubt on the validity of this idea. He claims that mentioned hollows are residues of bacteria colonization which once lived there after the decimation of the T.rex.
Secondly, it was highlighted in the reading material that more examination of the inner portions of the fossilized bone reveals that detected spheres could be the remains of red blood cells. On the other hand, the lecturer denounces this idea. The professor asserts that it couldn't be the remains of red blood cells and they probably have a very different origin. Other animal fossils include fossils of primitive species that they could not have had a any red blood cells also found in the same place.
As the last point to substantiate the reading's claim, the author puts emphasis on the point that performed tests on the dinosaur leg bone demonstrate that collagen, which exactly expected to be in a bone tissue, exist in it. Yet again, the lecturer deems the author's thesis invalid. He says this fibrous protein can't last longer than 100 years, and probably it's a remnant of other other spices like humans.
