The two maps compare the difference between 1930 and 2010 of Stokeford village.
It is evident that the village of Stokeford altered so much from 1930 to 2010 with fewer spaces for farmland and the notably rise of modern houses.
Stokeford has been seperated into 2 parts by a main road which passed through the centre of the village. On the left hand side of the main road, most of the spaces were farmland and hardly saw a house in the past. Howerver, in 2010, farmland disappeared and there were modern houses with efficient planning of surface instead. The only thing remained in the west of Stokeford was the post office. Next to it, many shops were demolished and replaced by some houses.
With the same trend as the left hand side, farmland on the right hand side of the main road was also removed, these spaces were used to relocate the houses. In 1930, houses were paralleled with main road, but in 2010, they seemed to be at an angle of 90 degrees to the road. Near them, the primary school was expanded, it had two more buildings than before. To the right of this school where the gardens located in 1930 were many houses leaned on main road. Only a small surface of gardens remained, but the large house in it was replaced by retirement home.
