In addition, it can be observed that Italy and Portugal had the increasing trends gradually during these four decades. In contrast, United Kingdom dropped steadily; meanwhile Sweden experienced an increasing trend significantly from 1967 to 2007.
Increasing from approximately 9 metric tonnes in 1967 to 11 metric tonnes in 1977, Sweden’s rate then plunged to a low of just 6 metric tonnes in 2007.
Portugal in the begin with around just 1 metric tonnes in 1967.This was followed by a period of exponential growth to the 5 metic tonnes converged with Sweden in 2007. As it can be seen that Italy has a similar trend as Portugal, which increase gradually to the almost 7 metric tonnes sustained in this rage in the period from 1997 to 2007. It can be observed that United Kingdom began at roughly 11 metric tonnes of carbon dioxide was the highest that in the year of 1977, followed by a steady fall.
