The charts below show what UK graduate and postgraduate students who did not go into full-time work did after leaving college in 2008.
The column graphs illustrate and compare between graduate and postgraduate student who choose different destinations are part time work, voluntary work, further study and unemployment instead of working full time after finishing the UK University, in 2008.
It is clear that the number of students who went into four destinations of graduate were higher than postgraduate students. However, the figures for further study always highest, while the lowest figures for students choose voluntary work.
Regarding the graduate students, in 2008, with nearly 30,000 students came into further study, followed by about 18,000 students from the part-time work. The unemployment was responsible for a lower number of students got into with over 16,000 students, but only 3,500 students got into voluntary work.
As regards the postgraduate students, the number of student who decided into further study and part time work nearly 3,000 students in total. In comparison, the unemployment and voluntary work is significantly less widely-choose, with 1,625 students and 345 students, respectively.
