The chart illustrates data of British citizens who have bought books on the Internet from 1997 to 2002, separated into four UK countries. It is clear, that money spent on books bought online had a steady and increasing trend over the five years. Chart also showed that readers in England were a majority of all represented UK countries.

As presented in the chart, people in Britain found buying books on the Internet very easy, this is proved by amount of the money spent. In 1997, British people bought books for about 12 millions pounds, when after five years, in 2002, this number doubled to twenty-four millions pounds respectively.

According to the data, people in England who have bought books on the Internet bet all other UK countries with 81 per cent. It could be notice that Northern Ireland had the lowest percentage on the books bought online in comparison with other UK countries, with only one per cent on the market. Last two parts of United Kingdom provided almost same numbers, in Wales with ten per cent and in Scotland with eight per cent.
