The bar chart below reveals the comparisons of telephones calls in UK for local, national and international, and mobile that measured in number of minutes (in billions) from 1995 until 2002.
The three categories showed trend of fluctuation even remained on the good track of growth.
The mobile phone changed dramatically from 1995 only 2 billion to 38 billion in the end of 2002. The mobile phone increased steeply from 2 (1995), 4 (1996), 6 (1997), 8 (1998), 12 (1999), 25 (2000), and 35 (2002). The phenomena happened where the number of people using mobile phoned rose dramatically. Although, the UK citizen still preferred to use local and national or international phone than mobile phone.
The local calls from fixed line were chosen as the most favorite line for UK citizen. The chart of local phone rose dramatically from 70 (1995), 80 (1996), 85 (1997), and 90 (1998) respectively. The local phone remained stable at 90 in 1999. Next, the local phone dropped to 85 (2000), 78 (2001) and 68 (2002) respectively. The reduction phenomena of local phone happened in 2000 when the mobile phone was an upward trend.
The national and international phone was the second rank of favorite calls for UK citizen. The trend of national and international phones was growth from 37, 40, 45, 48, 50, 55, 58, and 60 in 1995 respectively till 2002. The using of mobile phone did influence the using of national and international phone.
To sum up, the categories showed good trend of growth even local phone decreased slowly in 2002 when others increased.
