To what extent will migration from the developing world to the developed world become a social and political issue in the 21st century

Essay topics:

To what extent will migration from the developing world to the developed world become a social and political issue in the 21st century?

The more globalised and developed the world is, the easier and faster people can move and migrate. Therefore one of the most controversial and spoken issue today related to migration are its consequences. In this essay, I am going to describe the fundamental problems we can expect during this century, regarding migration from less developed countries to more industrialised world.

From the social point of view, the refugees have to integrate into local society. At first glance, this process seems to be quite easy, but it is not. As we can see, there has never been peace in the Arab world, because more religions have encountered in the one land. Moreover, nowadays, there are many communities and organizations, which are based on a hate against colored skins. So we can expect many assaults and street fights. Although this cause many problems, there are also bright sides, for instance, new people bring new culture and languages.

From the political point of view, this issue appears to be more complicated. On one hand, there is a minority of politicians, who welcome those immigrants and refugees, because they can be exploited. They do work that no one from local citizens would do. Moreover, we do not need them pay well, because they are used to work for such low salary. On the other hand, the majority of politicians are strongly against giving asylum to those people. They tend to think that these people will ruin out labor market and whole economic. Hence the governments impose many laws, that defend aboriginal citizens against immigrants, for example, immigrants cannot work longer than one year in the country and they also created complicated rules of the asylum process.

To sum up, as we can see there are many things that contribute to this issue. In my personal opinion, the migration will become not only social and political issues but also economic, cultural and international issue of 21st century.
