The chart gives information about house prices in five big cities from different countries over a twelve-year period compared with 1989.

From the chart, we can see that there were three cities in the first period (1990-1995) compared to one in the following period (1996-2002) whose percentage is below zero. One thing to mention is that three cities have a similar trend: there is a downward one before five years from 1995 and after five years, there is an upward. Frankfurt shows an opposite trend to these three cities which are New York, Tokyo and London. Madrid is the only city which has recorded a steady increase.

Another thing to point out is that there are some fluctuations in house prices from 1989 to 2002. London had the cheapest house all over the world for five years, then has become the most expensive one. Tokyo had the lowest prices during the 20s century. The house prices in New York reach five percentage in 1990 - 1995, whereas 1996 - 2002, the opposite one.

In conclusion, it is expected that the price of houses in megacity will explode during the following years.
