The graph and table below give information about water use worldwide and water consumption in two different countries.

The charts compare the amount of water used for agriculture, industry, and homes in all around the world and also water consumption in Brazil and Democratic Republic of Congo. By and large, global water needs increased noticeably between 1990 and 2000, in addition, agriculture had the greatest quantity of water use by 2000. It can also be seen that Water consumption in Brazil was much higher than Congo.

From graph this is obvious that agriculture sector dedicated the largest rate of water use from 1990 t0 2000. In 1990, water use in agriculture part was approximately 500 km3, while in industrial and domestic sectors stood at one fifth of that amount. Agriculture water use increased dramatically to 3,000 km3 by 2000, whereas industrial use was less than half of that amount. At this time period, domestic use of water had reached about 200 km3.

Regarding the table, the population of Brazil and the Congo in 2000 were 176 million and 5.2 million respectively, besides, Water consumption in Brazil was 359 m3 and this figure in Congo was 8 m3. Therefore, it could be explained by the fact that Brazil had 265 items more irrigated land.
