(IELTS WRITING TASK-I):The table below shows the figures for imprisonment in five countries between 1930 and 1980.
Write a report for a university, lecturer describing the information shown below.

The table shows the fluctuations in imprisonment in different countries over five decades from 1930 to 1980.

The numbers of imprisonment in Great Britain have increased over the period of study, from 30,000 in 1930 to 80,000 in 1980.In Australia and New Zealand the numbers in prison dropped from 1930 to 1940 and remained almost constant until 1950. Afterwards they have increased gradually, apart from 1980 when the numbers in prison in Australia fell considerably. In 1970, Great Britain, Australia, and New Zealand had imprisonment around 80,000 while United states and Canada had imprisonments between 80,000 and 90,000. United State is the only country which showed the most fluctuations in the imprisonment; however, the imprisonment increased by 40,000 from 1930 to 1980. On other hand, in 1930, Canada had the most imprisonment in comparison to other four countries but it recorded the gradual decrease in numbers of imprisonment in the following years.

Conclusively, from 1930 to 1980, the imprisonment decreased in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand while the opposite happened in United State, and in Great Britain.
