The table below shows the consumer durables (telephone, refrigerator, etc.) owned in Britain from 1972 to 1983. Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information shown below.
The table highlights the different type of consumer durables owned by Britain people from 1972 to 1983 and percentage of households having these durables. The table overall shows an increasing trend in the household percentage for each entity.
Britain people started owning videos in 1983 and 18% of households own them. Dishwasher became the part of consumer durables in 1978 and household percentage increased from 3% to 5% in 1983.
Vacuum cleaner seemed to be very common from start and household percentage jumped from 87% to 95% in 1982. It became obsolete in 1983 and no more households were using it.
For central heating and telephone the rate of increase is too much higher than that for refrigerator and washing machine. Like for central heating, it jumped from 37% to 64 % and on the other hand washing machine experienced an increase of 14% only. For television the household percentage is fairly stable.
