The table illustrate the proportion of household appliances owned in Britain from 1972 to 1983.
It is clear that, the percentage of owning the consumer durables each kind increased in each year. The biggest grow in percentage was telephone and central heating.
In 1972 under 50 percent of family in Britain had telephone and central heating. Over the time, the proportion substantially climbed to 77% with telephone and 64% with the central heating. On the other hand, the percentage of owning television in 1972 was quite high - 93% and continued increasing till 1983 covered 98% households had television. Beside with the covered of television were vacuum cleaner and refrigerator. Vacuum cleaner statistic ended in 1982 but with high rate 95%, while the refrigerator proportion in 1983 was 94%.
Video and dishwasher didn't appear in 1972. Until 1983, the proportion of video just appeared but already occupied 18%. The washing machine percentage was just showed from 1979 with 3% and slightly went up to 5% in 1983 very small number.
