33.The following charts illustrate the information about players of electronic games in South Korea in 2003
The three pie charts provide information about the age, gender of players and compare sales of different areas in electronic games in Korea in 2003.
Overall, while there were more male participants in electronic games compared to female players, the 18-35 age group took the highest proportion of players in 2003. Likewise, Korean costumers spent the largest amount of expenditure on action.
According to the gender graph, almost 72% of male players occupied in electronic games, and this figure was nearly 50% higher than the proportion of female players. Moreover, the vast majority of participants were from the 18-35 age group, accounting for 39%, followed by the under 18 group, at 38%. However, people aged more than 36 years old were less likely to take part in the games compared to the other 2 groups.
Referring the best-selling chart, action dominated the first place with 43%, followed by sports and race with 20% and 17% respectively. The other types such as role play and education were not popular, accounting for only 7%, and the least proportion was from other types.
