The bar chart below shows the hours per week that teenagers spend doing certain activities in Chester from 2002 to 2007.
The bar chart illustrates the amount of time that teenagers spent each week doing 7 types of activities over 6 years, from 2002 to 2007, in Chester.
Overall, the most time-consuming activity was watching television over all years, which varied from 25 to almost 40 hours per week. As opposite, bowling was the least popular activity each year: teenagers spent less than 5 hours weekly for this activity.
Such activities as going to pubs or discos, watching television and shopping steadily grew in popularity over years, resulted in about 2-3 times increase (from 5 to about 17 hours, from 25 to nearly 40 hours, from 7 to 15 hours respectively). Whereas, teenagers spent less time doing homework and sports with each year. In this case, the bar chart demonstrates a decrease from 12 to about 6 hours and from 10 to 2 hours.
The mentioned above trend was not spotted in an activity of watching DVDs. With the peak in 2004 (about 17 hours per week), teenagers spent just 10 hours in the final year, which is approximately equal to the time spent in the first year.
