The figure depicts the comparison of spending on public transport categorized by age group on rail, bus, and taxis. The data is from the people of Malaysia in the year 2008.
Firstly, it is clearly observed from the bar chart that the maximum expenditure is on the taxi mode by people from all age group. Secondly, the expense on rail mode of transportation has plummeted with the increase of age. Thirdly, the budget of spending for bus mode is similar for age group till 65 years of age but for people above 65, it has reduced significantly.
One cardinal features seen from the chart is that people with ages up to 65 have more money at disposal for public transport compared to age group above 65 years. Moreover, the expense on rail model is almost double for people under 30 years, but it decreases with the increase of age and is toppled over by bus slightly from people over 65 years of age.
In sum, people of all ages spend maximum in taxis and have a balanced budget for bus and rail for transportation. The overall spending is reduced for the people exceeding 65 years and is maximum for people under 30 years.
