The bar chart below represents the porportion of Australian men and women taking part in regular activity in 2010.
A glance at the chart reveals that there is no considerable difference between percentage of women and men who did practice, however women were more dominant than men in all different age groups except the first group (15 to 24).
From the data given, percentage of men‘s participation decreased from 52.8% to 39.5% with rising their ages from 15 to 44 then followed by rising the percentage of doing activity from 43.1% in the age of 45 to 54 to 46.7% in 65 and over.
The trend of doing physical activities between women with different ages were different from men. With increasing age in women, their participation rose too from 47.7% in the age group of 15-24 to 53.3% in 45 to 54 and then reduced gradually to 47.1% in the age of 65 and over. Interestingly the trend of growth and reduction of men and women’s participation is opposite of each other. Among men their activities reduced from 15 to 44 and then climbed from 45 to 65 and over. Nevertheless between women is vice versa first rose and then dropped.
