The bar chart below shows the percentage of Australian men and women in different age groups who did regular physical activity in 2010.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The bar graph presents data about percentages of citizens, based on gender, in Australia, who exercise on a regular basis and classified into age groups.
It is obvious from the diagram, that between 40 and 50 percent of the whole population is training regularly regardless of the age.
Young males who are under 24 years are the most active as per the chart. More than 52 percent is training regularly. However, the percent decreases dramatically to 42% after reaching 25 years. Then, it almost stagnates with slight escalation from 39, for those whom are below 45, to 47 percent, for those who are over 65. On the other hand, athletic percentages of women tend to conserve their values, even it maintains a constant growth from 47.7 percent in the age group which is between 15 and 24 years, until 53 percent of those aged between 55 to 64. Unlike male counterparts, the percentage starts falling, when the age of females exceeds 54 years to reach approximately its initial value of 47 percent.
