The bar chart illustrates the statistics about households in owned and rented accommodation in UK from 1918 to 2011. Overall, it is obvious that households in ownership rose gradually from its lowest point while the number of rented households went down from its highest between 1918 and 2001.
According to the chart, in 1939 the number of owned households grew from about 21% to above 30% and remained stable until 1953. After 8 years, the statistics of households in ownership saw a growth of 10% and again in the following two decades there was an upward trends of 20 %.Coming to the year of 1991, the percentage of owning households was under 70% nearly the same with the data in the sequence year in the row yet in 2011, the number had a decline of about 5%.
In accordance with the information given in the chart, in 1939 the number of households in hired accommodation decreased from about 78% to under 70% similarly with the indication of 1953. In the next year in the row, it was estimated that the percentage of renting a house was approximately 60%. In 20 years the number of rental households in Britain had a downward trend about 20% while it was constant showing 30% between 1991 and 2001. The percentage increased to about 37% at the end of the year in the row.
