Overall, qualities are the most popular with both male and female first-year students and most female students read them, whereas male freshmen tend to read tabloids. Moreover, most freshman, coming from both genders, focus on studying.
Qualities are the most preferred source of information with two genders, with nearly 160 students. The second-ranked source belongs to tabloids, with nearly 150 readers. Moreover, tabloids and comics’ male readers approximately double that of female, but non-fiction male readers almost halved the number of female readers. Journals, fiction, magazines are the sources of information that have small gaps between readers from both genders.
Most female and male students spend much time on studying, with 60% and 45%, respectively. However, female students only spend 10% of their time on sports, which ranks second for male (25%). The same pattern also appears in the category of socialising, with just 10% for female. Male students use equal time for socialising and working (15%) while 20% of time for female freshmen is devoted to working.
