The bar chart gives data about pupils who could master a second language and the different countries from which they came.
Overall, as can be explicitly seen from the chart, Romanian, Indian, and Vietnamese students were quite avid language learners while Chinese, Thai, and Russian accounted for less significant parts. Meanwhile, the proportions of girls outnumbered those of boys when it comes to learning a second language.
In Romania, India, and Vietnam, the ratios of male students mastering two languages were about 42%, 55%, and 46%. In the meantime, almost 70% of Indian girls knew a second language while their Romanian and Vietnamese counterparts only accounted for circa 65% and 56% respectively.
On the other hand, Chinese girls took up about 30% of the posse, twice as many as their male compatriots. The chasm between female and male students learning a language that was not their mother tongue was approximately 10% in Russia. At the same time, Thailand was a unique country as the number of boys getting engaged in a second language exceeded that of girls by about 8%.
