This university report is going to show global video game sales from 2000 to 2006, it will show the data for mobile games, console games, handheld games and finally online games
across the entire chart, it is clear that handheld games were the dominate form of gaming sales wise, and only continued to increase as time passed
as for both mobile and internet based games, both did not exist in 2000, but online games started first, with nearly 1 billion dollars in sales, continuing down to 2001, the start of mobile gaming in 2002 with 1 billion dollars, equal to sales of online games in 2002, this pattern of increase would continue, with advancements in technology boosting the sales of phone games a bit more than online games in 2003, with both getting closer in sales in 2004, another sales boost in 2005 for mobile games before a massive boost in sales from online games
as for console games, it is the only type of video game that has seen a reduction of sales across the years, going from near 6 billion dollars in 2000 all the way down to nearly 3.5 billion in 2006
