The chart and table below give information about population figures in Japan. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant

The table and chart indicate the statistic relating to the dwellers of japan from 1950 to 2055.
Before 2005, the population of japan witnessed a dramatic escalation, started at 84.1 and reached its top at 127.8 millions. After 2005 the trend decreased subtly by 2.4 millions of people. In 2035, the amount of inhabitants will plummet to 110 and may hit the lowest point of 89.9 by the end of 2055.
Having paralleled to the population, the proportion of the elderly rose significantly by 21.6 millions, also 15.1% from 1950 to 2005. In contrast with the failing trend of the overall population, the amount of over-65s remains an upward trend. There will be a considerable climb of the portion of the old generation from 20% to 34% in 2035. By 2055, the population will have peaked at 41% of total population.
Overall, the amount of dwellers in the past grew sustainably but in the future, the total one will drop whereas the statistics for old people increase constantly.
