The chart below gives information on the percentage of British people giving money to charity by age range for the years 1990 and 2010.
The chart illustrates the percentage of people who donated to charity in the UK, divided in five age bands, in 1990 and 2010.
Overall, the percentage shaply increases in both 1990 and 2010 from the first age range (18-25 years old), which is the group who donated the least money, to third (36-50) and the fourth (50-65) category in 1990 and 2010 respectively.
In 1990, the first three categories donated much more than the counterpart of twenty years later, with the biggest difference (around 10%) for people around teenage (18-25). In 2010 also, the proportion of donators remarkably changes by around 15% between the first two.
On the other hand, the highest percentage of donators is reached in 1990 with around 43% by people of 36-50 band, as opposed to the peak of 2010 which is slighly less than 40% for the fourth range. However, when it comes to people over 65, there is a downward trend in 1990 as well as in 2010, with 2010 having a higher figure by 35%.
