The chart below shows the amount of money per week spent on fast foods in Britain. The graph shows the trends in consumption of fast foods. Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information shown below. (RE-WRITE 1)

Contained in the bar chart provided is data pertaining to expenditure on three different fast foods per capita per week by income levels in the United Kingdom, and the line graph demonstrated fast food consumption from 1970 to 1990.

Regarding the bar chart, one sees the total amount of money spent on hamburgers considerably exceeded the total amount of money spent on two remaining fast foods, which were pizza, fish and chips. It is clear that hamburgers were the most popular fast foods, as high and average income consumers spent well over 40 pence and nearly 35 pence per week, respectively, on this food. For fish and chips, consumers with average income spent precisely 25 pence per week, whereas the same amount of 18 pence per week was spent by high and low income groups. With regards to pizza, expenditure on this food reached roughly 20 pence per week in high income group, but average and low income groups spent only around 13 pence and 7 pence on pizza, in that same order.

Turning to the line graph, there was an upward trend in pizza and hamburgers, while the trend for fish and chips was downward. It is evident that hamburger consumption increased dramatically, jumping from just under 100 grams to well over 500 grams during the period. There was a similar trend for pizza, which witnessed a steady rise from approximately 50 grams to just north of 300 grams as the period ended. However, in spite of starting at 300 grams in 1970, fish and chip consumption decreased gradually by 100 grams to 200 grams in 1985 after an inappreciable growth to around 220 grams in 1990.
