Overall, there was an upward trend in the numbers of Indian, Nepalese and Vietnamese students enrolling in Australian schools contrast to a decline in remaining nations. Additionally, the figure for China ranked first over the examined period.
Turing to the detail, in 2019, the number of Chinese students choosing Australian schools to study was 182,325 students compared with only 22.859 Brazilian students and 21.736 Malaysian students. After a year, the figure for China went down considerably to 167,568 students while those for Brazil and Malaysia experienced a slight decline to 21.086 and 19,564 respectively.
Regarding other nations, India witnessed the most significant growth from 92,024 students in 2019 to 108,024 students in 2020. Meanwhile, the number of Nepalese students studying in Australia increased by more than 4000 students in 2020 (50,252) in comparison with 46,382 students in 2019. In addition, the least increasing figure was observed in Vietnam with only 22,204( in 2019) to 23,268 ( in 2020).
