The chart below shows how frequently people in the USA ate in fast food restaurants between 2003 and 2013. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The chart illustrates data about the frequency that people ate in fast food restaurants in the USA over a ten-year period, from 2003 to 2013. Overall, almost all of the groups saw a slight decrease over these 10 years, with only two of them rising marginally. It is also notable that most people decided to have fast food once a week or once to twice every month, while the proportion for those who ate every day was the lowest throughout the period in question.
In 2003, people eating several times a week in fast food restaurants accounted for over 15%, at which point the percentage rose to 20% in 2006, before dipping by a margin of roughly 4% in 2013. The figures for people who ate once a week and once or twice a month both stood at approximately 30% in 2003. However, while the former experienced a slight decrease of nearly 5%, the latter increased to one-third over the next 10 years.
If we look at two opposite groups, people who ate fast food every day and those who never did, the disparity between their shares in 2003 was marginal, with both standing at around 5%. Both proportions saw a decline in 2006, after which they levelled off and remained stable until the end of the period.
