The barchat compares changes in the proportion of overseas students in university graduates in eight Canadia provinces in the years of 2001 and 2006.

Overall, the percentage of international graduates increased in all parts of Canada during the 6-year period, with the biggest rise taking place in British Columbia. New Brunswick's proportion of international students were the highest in in each year, while the reverse is true for Ontario.

In 2001, New Brunswick had the highest percentage of international graduates at around 7%, followed closely by Nova Scotia and Quebec with around 6% each. In contrast, the figures for the other five Canadian provinces were lower (under 5%), with Alberta and British Columbia sharing a relatively higher level (around 4%) and Ontario being the lowest (about 3%).

In 2006, New Brunswich's proportion of overseas graduates almost doubled to close to 13% which continued to be the highest. Notably, the share of international graduate students in British Columbia soared to approximately 11% in 2006, which catched up that in Nova Scotia inthe same year to became the second highest. The proportion of international student in other parts of Canadia also saw upward trends, with figures reaching to aprroximately 6.5% .
