The bar chart illustrates the percentage of international students graduating at university in eight states of Canada from 2001 to 2006.
At the first glance, it is clear that the proportion of non-native people graduating increased in all provinces. The largest share can be seen in New Brunswick.
In 2001, 7% of university graduated students was foreigners in New Brunswick, followed by Nova Scotia and Quebec, at about 6%. Alberta province recorded 5% of graduated students was not indigenous, while the figure for other remaining states were under 5%.
Turning to the year 2006, New Brunswick still took the lead, with the figure of 12%. Meanwhile, British Columbia experienced the fastest growth in the rate of international students graduating and shared the same figure with Nova Scotia, at above 10%. However, there was a slight fall in Alberta to 4% in this year. The proportions of non-native graduated students from Quebec, Manitoba, Newfoundland and Labrador and Ontario rose to between 6% and 8%.
