The bar graph illustrates the proportion of people bought and rented house accommodation in London and Wales from 1981 to 2011.

Overall, the pattern of rented accommodation was gradually fell from the initial year, while owned house accommodation was significantly climbed up from the starting year.

First of all, according to the chart, the proportion of rented household accommodation was nearly 80% at the beginning of the era. Additionally, it decreased and remained steady for the next two years, about 70%. In 1961 and 1971, nearly 60% and 50% of the household was contracted by people, respectively. It reached nearly 30% in 2001, which was the least proportion in rented household accommodation and it rose by 5% at the end of the era.

Furthermore, in 1918, about 20% of the household was owned by Britishers. In the following two years, the percentage was remained constant, about 30%, then it jumped by 10% in the year 1961. After a decade, the proportion of owned and rented accommodation was equal. It was gradually going up to approximately 70% at the start of the 21st century, which was 40% more than the rented household. In the last year, it slightly drops down and reached just over 60%.
