The chart depicts the proportion of people who rented houses and those who had their own in two different British countries namely, Whales and England from 1918 to 2011.

Overall, the percentage of households in rented accommadition on was greater than the proportion of households in owned accommadation throughout the years. In addition, the highest percentage of households in owned accommadition was 2011 while the percentage of household in rented accommadation was the lowest. Furthermore, the biggest percentage of households in rented accommadation was in 1918 while the percentage of households in owned accommadation was the smallest. Additionally, had the same proportion in 1971.

This figures show that the highest rate of rented was in 1918, accounting for nearly 76%. Then it levelled out with almost 68% between 1939 to 1953. After 1961, it slightly dropped to about 64% in 2001.

In1918 households in owned accommadation was approximately 23%. It rose to 32% and it remained constant between 1939 to 1953. Then it to rise considerably from about 32% to 69% in between 1939 and 2001. However it slightly decreased to 64% 2011.
