The chart reveals how many percentage of profits did the seven most popular movie genres in the US cinemas make in 1995, 2000, and 2005 as the total incomes of the film industry in this nation.

Overall, drama was most viewed in 1995 but by 2000 comedy movies always dominated until 2005. In contrast, thriller, musicals and animation movies had the lowest profits.

To begin in 1995, the drama was in first place with 28%, which was higher the comedy by 8%. Action and adventure were close behind each other with 16% and 14% respectively. The rest ones, thriller, musicals, and animation, had percentages of profits around 5% to 13%.

In the 5 years, from 2000 to 2005, comedy’s total earnings hit the highest percentage with about 25% and drama dropped from nearly 20% n 2000 to 15% in the next 5 years. Although adventure movies went down to 10% at first but then surged to approximately 25%. Action didn’t have many changes and reached 14% at last. Thriller and musicals had a trend to decrease 5% in this period but animation climbed by 2000 to stand at 7%.
