Overall, the proportion of citizens going to a cafe for coffee or tea in last 4 weeks was highest in almost all cities, except for Melbourne. It is worth noting that instant coffee was more common than fresh coffee.
The percentage of people who went to a cafe in last 4 weeks was highest in Melbourne, around 64%. The figure of Sydney was less by 3%. Regarding citizens purchasing instant coffee in last 4 weeks, these countries had figures which were around 46% to 48%. While the proportion of residents buying fresh coffee in Melbourne was much less than that of instant coffee at about 43%, the figure of Sydney had insignificant difference.
When looking into the remaining cities, Hobart had the highest percentage of people accessing a cafe in last 4 weeks, nearly 63%, followed by Brisban and Adelaide at approximately 55% and 50% respectively. The figures for citizens purchasing instant coffee in Hobart and Brisban were less, at around 53% to 54%. In contrast, Adelaide was the only one city having the proportion of citizens buying instant coffee which was highest among 3 categories, nearly 50%. Meanwhile, the figures of residents purchasing fresh coffee were much less, around 34% to 37%.
