The chart below shows the total number of minutes (in billion) of telephone calls in the UK, divided into three categories, from 1995-2002.

The given chart illustrates the UK telephone calls by different categories(local, national and international and mobile) between 1995 and 2002.

Overall, telephone calls by mobiles and national and international fixed line experienced upward trend and local fixed line showed downward trend over the period given. While, total calls by local fixed line was constantly higher and mobile accounted for the lowest portion of the chart over the period given.

In 1995, above 70 billion minutes calls was done by local fixed line, being multiple of mobile calls and almost double of national and international fixed line. It had a steady growth throughout the period and peaked at around 90 billion minutes in 1999. After that, It continued to decline in the following period of time and hitted the low point of approximately 80 billion minutes at the end of the period.

Whereas, telephone calls by mobile and national and international fixed line were about 4 billion and 38 billion minutes respectively. Both of them rose gradually in the following year reaching to nearly 50 billion and 60 billion minutes in 2002.
