The information is given in this chart is about the length of telephone calls in England in terms of local – fixed line, national and international – fixed line and mobiles from 1995 to 2002.
From the overview perspective, the number of minutes of local fixed-line was the highest number and the figure for minutes of mobiles was the lowest one in the period of 7 years.
Firstly, local fixed-line is the type which was used predominantly. Specifically, over 70 billion minutes was the figure for this type in 1995 which was as double as the total number of minutes of national and international – fixed line and was as over seventh as the figure for another call type. The number of minutes of local – fixed reached the peak at exactly 90 billion in 1999 and then decreased significantly to roughly 70 billion in the end of this period.
Secondly, the figure for the other categories rose from 1995 to 2002. More specific, the total number of minutes of national and international – fixed line increased slightly and reached the highest number at over 60 billion at 2002. The figure for last call type climbed sharply in the whole period. It was only about 5 billion in 1995 and in the last year, it reached the peak at around 45 billion.
