The chart depicts the GDP from the IT and Service Industry of the UK from the year 1992 to 2000. It is measured in percentage.
Overall, it can be seen that GDP of both IT industry and Service industry has increased in the following years but IT industry shows a
the enormous growth in the years 1998 and 2000.
At the beginning of the period, in 1992, GDP for Service Industry and IT industry was 4% and 6% respectively. Over the next four years,
the level became more similar, with both components standing between 6 and just over 8. IT was still higher overall, though it dropped slightly(just over 8%
to almost 8%) from 1994 to 1996.
However, over the following four years, the pattern of the two components was noticeably different. The percentage of IT industry shot from almost 8% to 12% in 1996
however, the Service industry had only a slight increase of just below 8% in 1996. The percentage of GDP for the IT industry sharply increased to nearly 15% in 2000 The service industry had a slight increase to just over 8%.
