The diagram depicts a 7 step manufacturing process of how sugar cane is used for making sugar. The key elements in this process are harvesting, crushing, purifying juice, and evaporating,
Firstly, sugar cane is grown for 12 to 18 months which is named the growing process. Next, the fully grown sugar canes are harvested. it can be done in two ways namely, manual method: which involves humans harvesting the sugar cane directly, and by using machines: which involves machines controlled by humans to harvest the crops. Then, the harvested sugar cane is completely crushed in a crusher to extract sugarcane juice. When the juice is ready it is then purified using a limestone filter and is heated in an evaporator which converts the juice into syrup. Next, a process called centrifuge is performed on the extracted syrup which separates sugar crystals from the syrup. Finally, the sugar crystals are dried and cooled to get the final sugar.
