Overall, 17% of Americans were dining several times a week out, before experiencing a rise to 20% and then a sharp decline to about 16% a decade later. On the other hand, only about 32% of Americans ate fast food once a week in 2003. This rate increased to 33 % and decreased to 27%. Also, 30% of Americans preferred eating fast food once or twice a month in 2003 before showing a decline to 25% and a rise to 32%. Lastly, almost 14% of Americans ate fast food a few times a year in restaurants in 2003. After that, the proportion rose to 15% and remained same five nad ten years later.
