In 2006, more than one third Americans went to fast food restaurants, but it decreased to about 27% in 2013. The proportion for people ate fast food once or twice a month decreased by 5% from 2003 to 2006 then rose to 33% in 2013.
From 2003 to 2013, the figure for the number of people who had fast food as a meal several times a week ranging from 16% to 20%. Additionally, people who ate a few times a year had the same percentage at 15% in 2006 and 2013 while it is 12,5% in 2003. Finally, daily eaters and those who had never eaten fast food accounted for a very small proportion with about 5%.
