The chart shows the proportion of people in a UK survey carried out in three different years who said they were interested in certain sports.
The bar chart demonstrates the percentage of participants who enjoyed six different types of outdoor activities in a UK survey launched in 1995, 2000 and 2005.
Overall, walking was the most popular outdoor activity among British people in all three years. Another interesting point is that there were considerable downward trends for the number of participant in snooker, tennis and golf, while this figure for rugby and swim experienced slight improvements.
Looking at details, in 1995 the percentage of people choose Rugby and Swim similarly at 24% and 22% in turn then reached the same point at around 26% in 2005, a minor change. The number of participants interested in walking grew steadily by 1% each five years to 44% in 2005.
By contrast, golf always stood at the bottom with figures fluctuated between 17% and 15% over the period. Although tennis and snooker are the second popular sports in 1995, their percentage witnessed a dramatic drop by 7% approximately by 2005.
