The given charts provide information on the ratios of sodium, saturated fat and sugar eaten by the Americans, all of which could cause serious health issues if consumed too much. Overall, there is a difference in the percentage of three types of nutrients eaten in daily meals in the USA.
In the case of sodium, the largest amount people in the USA consume on a daily basis is during dinner, which tops at 43%. At lunches, only around half of that number of people consume sodium, at around 29%; whereas not a lot of people choose to add sodium in their breakfasts and snacks.
A similar situation occurs in the case of saturated fat, which is also got eaten the most at dinner. However, there is a slight difference as more people in the US tend to choose products containing saturated fat as snacks with a rate of 21%. Breakfast is still the meal with the least amount of consumed saturated fat.
However, when it comes to sugar, there is a totally contrasting picture. 42% of Americans is reported to eat products with added sugar as snacks. The remaining 58% is distributed somewhat evenly between breakfast, lunch and dinner with the ratios of 16%, 19% and 23% respectively.
